Everquest: Raid Ruleset

There are three kinds of raids that the EverQuest II branch of The BlackHand do: Progress, Farm and Alt raids. Each follow the same general pattern but have their differences, as described below.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT

Raids that gives DKP are announced, usually 48 hours before the raid start, on our Raid Calendar, with a short reference to it on the MOTD in the game itself. There is also usually a Raid Mail in game that accompanies this announcement.

A raid announcement contains, but not limited, to the following information:

* Date and time (in UTC).

* Raid name and a short description; alternatively links to text resources on the raid.

* The meeting point and mustering time.

* Level or limitation in the number of players who can attend.

* The name of the raid leader.

* The raid type.

SIGNING UP AND RAID COMPOSITION

Players should sign themselves up for coming raids on the Raid Calendar. The Raid Calendar is a tool for the Raid Leader so that he/she can plan out a raid accordingly. Those who sign up for a raid are saying that they can attend the entire raid and that they have the requirements necessary for the type of raid. Should there be a problem, please list it in the comments section. A player may unsign from a raid up to one hour before the raid starts and if you need to unsign, please state why in the comments section or PM the Raid Leader.

A raid requires a profile to ensure it's capability. By default it is:

1 MAIN TANK
1 BUFF TAN
8 BUFFERS
6 HEALERS
8 DPS

Limit to 2 players per class/archetype.

In the case of a raid needing a different profile to the default the required profile will be posted with the raid announcement.

Those positions are treated as separate pools and each pool is filled by people fitting into that pool by the raid leader's design.

Any person that is not matching raid requirements (3rd in class, low level, etc.) is moved virtually to the end of the sign-up queue.

The raid leader is free to decide regarding players who did not sign up on the Calendar.

The raid leader's decision is final.

TYPE OF RAID

All TBH raids have a general set of rules that we raid by. On top of this, there are raid specific rules depending on what the raid type is. Finally, all raids yield DKP in the normal way except PURs.

General Rules:

* Must be on Ventrilo prior to the raid formation.
* Must be at the meeting point prior to raid formation.
* Must come prepared with the right resist gear.
* Must come prepared with the right potions and relics.
* Must stay the full duration of the raid (estimated times to be given on sign-up).
* Must not go ninja AFK - Especially when tactics are being announced.
* Must pay full attention to whats being asked at all times.
* Must understand that even if they signed up first that its NOT a guarantee they will be raiding, raiders are determined by the Raid Leader.
* Must be prepared to take the deaths and keep taking them as we learn the tactics - and not suddenly log due to the raid not going well.

Progression Raids:

* Must be on your main toon, as listed on the Alt-Main Roster.
* Must have your Fabled Epic.
* To have greater than 160 AA.
* Working microphone
* Working ACT
* To be able to get each resist greater than 10k un-buffed, but not simultaneously.
* To be able to get your critical mitigation to 18% when neessary.
* May have members on standby. Standby is where a member's main stays freely availalble either in the GH or outside the raid zone in and are on Ventrilo. This enables them to be switched in at a moments notice.

Farming Raids:

* Must be on your main toon, as listed on the Alt-Main Roster.
* Must have your Fabled Epic.
* Must understand that regular raiders may be asked to sit out in favour of casual raiders.
* The raid composition of a Farming raid is done in sign up order and has lower requirements to reflect the ease of the raid. Again, the Raid Leader has the final say with regards to this.
* May have members on standby. Standby is where a member's main stays freely availalble either in the GH or outside the raid zone in and are on Ventrilo. This enables them to be switched in at a moments notice.

Alt Raids:

* The participants may choose which toon they come on.
* Must understand that regular raiders may be asked to sit out in favour of casual raiders.
* The raid composition of an Alt raid is done in sign up order and has lower requirements to reflect the ease of the raid. Again, the Raid Leader has the final say with regards to this.

These are the raids where our alts can shine. It is for our members to experience something different than the norm and has the lowest requirements of all our raids.

Please note, this is the only raid where alts may freely bid against mains for loot.

Pick Up Raids (PUR):

This deserves a mention as they occasionally happen. As these raids aren't TBH-only, for the most part you may do as you please. However please remember that whilst you wear the TBH tag, please uphold our principles whilst raiding.

ALTS

Alts deserve a special mention as they may be used on our Progress and Farming raids where necessary, alts of our members are listed in the alt section of the Alt-Main Roster. An alt is, and always will be, a back up for our main raid force; they are only drafted in for the benefit of the entire raid.

If you are asked to switch to an alt, please comply for the benefit of the raid as your sacrifice will ensure that TBH raids that day. If such requests becomes frequent, then the Core will recruit the needed class.

Alts have their own loot restrictions mentioned on our DKP Rules.
