Everquest: Game F.A.Q
Frequently Asked Questions (and answers): TBH on EQ2
Which server are you playing on?
Runnyeye.
Which city are you aligned to?
We are aligned to Freeport and our Guild Hall is in The Commonlands, but we have many players that are aligned to Gorowynn, Kelethin, Neriak and Qeynos.
How do I become a member of The BlackHand?
Register on the website and submit an application in the Applications section found under Main on the left-hand menu, filling out the twelve questions as you go. Alternatively, you may contact a Core member or a Seeker in game, but you are still required to submit an application.
Can i still have my alts in my old guild to play with my old friends?
No, because we feel that each member should be wholly committed to us. Whilst we ask that you totally remove yourself from your previous guild, it by no means prevents you from still grouping with them when you feel like it.
When and where do you have your meetings?
When a meeting is called, they are held on a Sunday, 20:00 UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) in the winter and 19:00 UTC in the summer - meetings are held in the main hall of the Guild Hall. If you are online, attendance is mandatory.
Do you have any scheduled events throughout the week?
Scheduled events are posted on the Member's Forum. To participate, members are asked to sign up there in advance. Members can also see scheduled raids on the EQ2 branch's front page, or on the Raid Calendar. Raiding days are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (1830 UTC), and any other day we have the classes on and the willingness to raid. Members are also asked to sign up on the Raid Calendar well in advance. The in-game Message Of The Day (MOTD) contains information on all current events for easy reference.
How does the guild bank work?
When joining a guild you get access to the guild bank at the same place as you interface your ordinary bank (just different menu when selecting the banker.) The guild bank are separated into 4 slots, each slot has (currently) 6 rows. The guildbank is primary a storage for items that guild member's might need, like tradeskill raws, food, armor, etc, but is also used for transferring items and money between the cities of Freeport, Gorowyn, Kelethin, Neriak and Qeynos.
We've set up the guild bank in the following way:
* Slot 1: Harvested resources. This is typically resources used for crafting. We want top tier, and items that are not sold for 5s or less on the merchant, because this bank seems to always be full.
* Slot 2: Crafted items, including food and drinks. If you need anything here, grab it! Items for relic armour or quest items can also be found here.
* Slot 3: Used by the core group for safekeeping of the Master Donation Programme (MDP) masters and yet to be auctioned raid loot. This bank also houses the guild's funds.
* Slot 4: The top 4 rows are for donations to the guild members. This might be adept I spells, collections, etc. When these 4 slots are full a core member will empty it, either mailing the item to someone who might have use for it or selling the item on a vendor and putting the coinage into guild bank 3.
The 3 bottom rows are for transfers. You may NOT take anything out of there unless agreed upon by the person who put it there. Also, our definition for transfers has a 24 hour time limit. That is, this slot is not a long term storage for your items, when the 24 hour limit is exceeded the item might be moved by a core member either moved to slot 1-3 or to the top 4 rows.
It is important that before you put something into the guildbank you must really think things through whether someone might find the item useful or not. It is better to not put something there than overflowing it with junk. Items that are sold for 0-1g on the broker would normally not go into the bank.
Applicants have no access to the guild bank.
Would I have to give my "Phat" loot to the guild?
Yes and no. We do not enforce how our members deal with masters when these items drop that can not be used in the group. The system we use, the Master Donation Programme (MDP) requires that you mail, to Ninmah, the masters that you win. They will then add the master and who's it is from the auction system under the denomination of (Donation). If you chose not to do this then expect not to receive anything from the Guild or be able to bid in the donation system.
People may then bid using their DKP for the master and if someone bids on that master, then the person that donated it will be rewarded 3 DKP. If the master is not bid on then the master will be returned to the person to do with as they like. Only T8 masters apply to this.
Other quested/instanced loot you may do with as you please, with any donations to the guild going in either GB2 or GB4.
How is raid loot dealt with?
We run a DKP system. This consists of in game auctions for no-trade items and Master spells/combat arts using the built in web browser. Raid loot that is not no-trade goes up for auction on the site. Rules for how these operate can be found in the DKP section of the site once you are a member. You will not be eligible to receive DKP if you have not signed up on the forums!
Who is the guild leader?
Andarielle is the guild leader. To get a complete overview of the guild command structure, refer to the Guild Rankings under the EverQuest 2 menu or view the SOE roster and sort by rank.
What is status?
Status points are gained to buy things in the game from titles to flying carpets. When gaining personal status you also gain Guild status which is used in the leveling of the guild much like XPing. Status points are acquired by completing City Tasks (Writs), completed Heritage Quests and by killing certain powerful enemies throughout the game. Alternatively, you can turn in status loot for a small increase in status. The Status Roster shows how much status each member has earned the guild.
How to I get started with crafting?
Best way is probably reading a crafting guide. If you're still at the newbie island you can and should take some of the crafting quests there. When you arrive in your home city, you need to get yourself into a crafting society; there is one to be found in every suburb of every city. From there you either buy or search for raw materials and then you craft your items to gain XP. When you've reached a certain level you'll need to buy and scribe the recipe book which contain the recipes for your level (or below.) After tradeskill revamp you enter your suburb as level 1 crafter. To get your first book, you need to hail the merchant in a tradeskill society zone.
I've joined up with the guild but I am still enlisted as 'Friend of The BlackHand' on the forums, why?
It's the default setting for new applicants. That way non-members can't get into our member's areas by just applying for a new account. To fix this you have to contact a core member (ingame), post on the forums or PM a core member and we'll fix it ASAP. If you haven't submitted an application yet, you will not have forum access either.
